The CLARITET Clarinet Quartet was founded in 2011 at the initiative of teachers from the Music School Hugo Wolf Slovenj Gradec and also established the Claritet Cultural Association. The members came together with the shared goal of creating outstanding chamber music while enjoying relaxed and engaging performances at a wide variety of concerts and cultural events. The quartet consists of Mitja Repnik, David Gregorc, Rok Rupreht, and Aljoša Pavlinc.
The members are united by their love of the clarinet, creativity, openness, a desire for innovation, and the joy of exploring new musical ideas and challenges.
Each member has gained extensive musical experience through numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras, including the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the SNG Ljubljana Opera and Ballet Orchestra, the Slovenian Police Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg, Bühne Baden, and many other distinguished musical institutions.
Over the past fifteen years, the quartet has performed at numerous concerts, concert series, and festivals in Slovenia and abroad. A particular highlight was their six performances as part of the Maribor 2012 European Capital of Culture.
In 2017, the quartet won Second Prize at the SVIREL – International Music Competition and Festival for Soloists and Chamber Groups.
In the same year, it received the Berneker Plaque from the Municipality of Slovenj Gradec in recognition of its outstanding achievements in the field of culture.
In 2024, the quartet won Third Prize at the International Music Competition Panonia, and in 2025 it received First Prize as well as the Platinum Award for the best performance of the compulsory work at the USMC Competition.
The CLARITET Quartet has also published the music collection Pieces for Little Sprites, arranged for clarinet, saxophone, violin, trumpet, low brass instruments, recorder, accordion, and guitar.
In addition to its concert activities, the quartet organizes music seminars, workshops, and concerts for children as well as performances for more demanding concert audiences.
The quartet makes a significant contribution to the cultural life of the Carinthia region of Slovenia and beyond. Through high-quality, relaxed, innovative, and confident performances, CLARITET strives to bring clarinet chamber music to the widest possible audience. Their work is always guided by sincere dedication to music and a positive spirit.
We proudly follow our musical path. We do not ask where it leads—we simply continue walking it.
